As some of you may know, my
son, Shane, is currently making his way in the family business, playing
baseball. Following in the footsteps of
his father and grandfather, he plays for the Stockton Ports. The Ports are a
Class A Advanced team affiliated with the Oakland A's.The great part about it
is he plays in what is known as the California League so most of his games are
played here, in his home state. So, when I want to see him play, it’s usually
just a couple of hours on the road to places like Lake Elsinore, Bakersfield,
Visalia or Rancho Cucamonga all cities with teams in the same league. And,
likewise, when he needs some home-cooking or just some of Mom’s TLC, he’s within a days drive of that, too. Although, as you might
expect, he seldom takes advantage of it. If I can’t drive I listen to game broadcasts
on the web

Because of Shane's exceptional speed and reflexes, he's often called upon to lay down a bunt or steal a base. he Has 5 stolen bases so far this season. He also has one home run: a timely grand slam.
