From Friday to Sunday, Ra Sushi in Huntington Beach will feature a Star Spangled Mojito ($8) as the restaurant’s own tribute to the Fourth. Stop in for a sip (and watch the fireworks!), or make a few at home with the recipe below.
RA STAR SPANGLED MOJITO
Yield: 1 serving
- 2 limes
- 4 mint leaves
- 1.5 ounces white rum
- 0.5 ounces Triple Sec
- 1 ounce blueberry puree (recipe below)
- Soda water
- Lemon-lime soda

Garnishes: 3 blueberries and 1 mint sprig
1. Squeeze the limes and drop the mint leaves into a muddling tin and muddle. Add rum, Triple Sec and blueberry puree.
2. Pour into a bomber glass and fill with ice. Add a splash of soda water and a splash of lemon-lime soda. Garnish with blueberries and a sprig of mint. Serve.
Blueberry Puree: mix equal parts of blueberry preserves with simple syrup and place mixture in squeeze bottle for easy use.
